Bourjois is back, landing in the UK at Superdrug! After a three year hiatus from the UK market, it’s finally returning to our high street. The French cosmetics brand — which was founded in 1863 by actor Joseph-Albert Ponsin — has fans practically in mourning after announcing in 2019 that it would be discontinued in the UK after a decline in sales.
But for those Healthy Mix Foundation lovers, you’ve got Superdrug to thank for its return. As of 27 June, you’ll be able to shop Bourjois products online exclusively at Superdrug and then in stores as it rolls out over the summer.
“Superdrug is absolutely thrilled to welcome the iconic Bourjois brand back to the UK, especially as the range was previously a firm favourite with our customers,” says Megan Potter, Superdrug’s trading director. “Parisian beauty is having a big moment thanks to Emily In Paris – and let’s face it, that chic French style will never go out of fashion! Customers will be happy to see the return of Bourjois’ hero products including the Little Round Pot Blushers but there are also some innovative new offerings in the collection.”
So, what should you buy first? There will be some returning favourites, like Healthy Mix Foundation and Rouge Velvet Lipstick to stock up on. But there will also be some newbies, too. The Rogue Velvet Ink lipstick is new to the UK market, which promises to be transfer-proof with “extreme wear” in 12 intense matte shades. Superdrug is also exclusively launching the Bourjois Twist Up Mascara, which is the number 1 selling mascara in France, promising incredible lengthening abilities.
Bourjois is also a brand loved by royalty, so if you want to copy the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding day nail hue, put So Laque Nail Enamel in Rose Lounge on your shopping list.
Previously Bourjois has had a disappointing number of shades readily available so here’s hoping plenty of shades are stocked when it returns to Superdrug.
