Tyson Fury teases ‘some big news coming’

Tyson Fury was recited a poem on a rooftop in Dubai during his visit to the city as he prepares for his title defence against Dillian Whyte.

The ‘Gypsy King’ flew out to the Middle East and is training out in the warm weather as he awaits the confirmation of his domestic showdown with Whyte.

He has been training with friend and heavyweight contender Joseph Parker and his dad John as he looks to maintain his undefeated record in the sport.

A fan thanked Fury for visiting the facility with a crowd on a rooftop with a poem, reciting: “We are so happy you took time out to visit us today. This is the place we come to get fit and fight for a better day.

“Heavyweight champion of the world we appreciate you, because all you need is motivation in life and motivation will pull us through. We work on the business so we can earn the big dollars.

“But we must also work on our mind and body so we don’t become big dossers. Fighting Deontay Wilder how scary can that be? But I guess you were not scared because you beat him times three.

“When you got back up off the floor when you get knocked down, damn that was spooky. You rose like a scene out of a movie. Jaw dropping moment it was just ace, you should have seen look at Wilder’s face.

“Finally we wish you all the best we can’t wait to see you again in the ring, thank you for entertaining us sir you legend, the ‘Gypsy King’.”

Fury will likely return to the UK in the coming weeks for the announcement press conference with Whyte as the pair prepare to do battle.

The 33-year-old will compete on home soil for the first time in five fights with his last appearance in the UK coming against Fransisco Pianeta in 2018.

Wembley Stadium has been agreed as the venue according to reports which will see the pair compete in front of a 90,000-strong crowd in London.

Whyte has remained largely silent as he awaits official confirmation that the fight will definitely take place, after Frank Warren won rights to stage the fight with a £31 million offer.

Fury is confident that he can score another stoppage against his rival to set up a potential undisputed tilt later in the year.

“That’s the fight we’re going to do. Frank won the purse bids. and now what we’re going to do is knock [him] out,” Fury told the National.

“The guy’s a bum. None of these fights turn me on any more. Not one of them. It’s just a boxing match to me now. Even the Wilder fights didn’t really get me up for the fights.

“t’s just a boxing match these days. I don’t have any specific reason for doing it. I do it because I can and it’s easy.”
