Boxing Fans React to Gervonta Davis’ Body Shot Knockout to Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas Fight

One of the biggest non-title fights of the year has finally happened, as Gervonta “Tank” Davis took on “King” Ryan Garcia on Saturday.

Fans have waited months for these two young fighters to square off at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada after they sent their fair share of shots at each other ahead of the main event. Things even spilled over when Davis and Garcia got into a shoving match and had to be restrained during the official fight weigh-in on Friday.

Throughout the night, celebrities such as Damian Lillard, CJ Stroud, Micah Parsons, Erickson Lubin, Stephen Fulton Jr., Caleb Plant, Gary Sheffield, David Price, Maxx Crosby, Paul Pierce, Julius Erving, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Manny Pacquiao, and Andre Ward were announced in attendance.

Watched by over 20,000 people in the arena, the 136-catchweight bout went seven of the 12 rounds, with Davis hitting a devastating body shot to end the fight. Davis won by knockout and kept his undefeated streak.

Social media has erupted over who would come out on top between the talented lightweight boxers, and as expected, fans are talking all about the actual fight on Twitter. There are several reasons behind all the social media chatter, too, from Davis and Garcia wagering their respective purses to fans believing the outcome of the bout will determine who’s the best boxer in the lightweight division.

As the smoke clears from one of the most highly-anticipated fights of the year, check out some of the best reactions below.
