Altogether 3,444 candidates are set to write the 68th Mains (written) examination conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) in Patna on Friday.

BPSC will conduct the general studies paper I on Friday across seven exam centres in a single shift from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

BPSC officials said that all preparations have been completed for conducting the exam in a free and fair manner.

Patna district magistrate Chandra Shekhar Singh said tight security arrangements have been made to conduct the exam peacefully.

He said, ” As many as seven static magistrates and three zonal magistrates have been deployed for stringent security. Candidates will be given entry to exam hall between 7.30 am and 8:30 am. No late entry will be given in any circumstances. Thorough frisking of candidates will be done to ensure no candidate carries debarred items. No examinee or invigilator will be allowed to come out from the exam hall before completion of exam.”

“Carrying electronic gadgets like smart watch, mobile, Bluetooth, pager etc inside the exam hall is strictly prohibited. If any candidate is found with restricted gadgets, strict action will be taken against them and they can also be debarred from writing the exam”, he said.

Singh said the district administration is dedicated to conduct the prestigious exam in a fair and peaceful manner.

BPSC will conduct examination of General studies paper II on May 17 and optional paper on May 18.

Altogether 2,58,036 candidates appeared in the 68th preliminary test held in February this year. Of them, as many as 3,590 candidates cleared the preliminary test. The 68th BPSC exam is being conducted to fill 324 posts in various government departments.
