On Friday, the movie Brahmastra, which reunites Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for the first time, was finally released in theatres. Despite being released on a non-holiday, the Ayan Mukerji movie had a roaring start, with sales in the range of ₹35–₹36 crores. This appears to surpass Ranbir’s greatest opening to date, Sanju, which brought in ₹34.75 crores on day one in 2018.
Good advance booking numbers gave reason for optimism that the movie, which was released in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu, may do spectacularly on its opening day. Because the game doesn’t start until the public sees the movie, Ranbir has previously stated that he couldn’t take the advance booking figures seriously. Keeping in mind the day one collection numbers for the film, we can expect a similar result on day 2 as well & Brahmastra will likely cross ₹75 crores today.

With receipts of ₹41 crores, SS Rajamouli’s Bahubali: The Conclusion had the best opening on a non-holiday. It was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Telugu, with Hindi dubbing. By Wednesday night, ₹11 crore rupees’ worth of Brahmastra tickets had been sold since advance booking began. In the post-pandemic era, these were regarded as the best advance booking numbers for any Bollywood film.
