Hornets No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller has wasted no time making headlines with some of his pre and post-draft comments when it comes to the NBA’s GOAT and Michael Jordan being old. But he might’ve topped himself with his latest take.
Speaking in a now viral clip to WCNC Charlotte, the Buzz City rookie said he can envision the franchise in the NBA Finals as soon as next season.
“I can see the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA Finals next year,” Miller admitted. “Hopefully, we will get there and get the big trophy in the end.”

The first-year forward certainly isn’t lacking in confidence as he enters the NBA. However, he definitely has a tall task ahead of him. The Hornets finished with a 27-55 record last season, good for fourth-worst in the Association, and the team has never advanced past the Eastern Conference Semis in its 34-year history.
Charlotte’s last playoff appearance came in 2015-16 when the Kemba Walker, Al Jefferson-led Hornets took the post-Big 3 Heat seven in the first round.
And while Brandon Miller figures to be one of the favorites to take home Rookie of the Year honors next year, the Finals MVP odds may be a tad longer.
