A massive brawl broke out on a cruise ship after the body of a woman who fell overboard was found by search-and-rescue teams.

Passengers are seen throwing punches after they were stopped from disembarking from the ship, the Daily Mail reported.

The 36-year-old woman fell from the MSC Meraviglia at about 5 a.m. on Thursday, about 29 kilometres off the Florida coast.

The Coast Guard retrieved the woman’s body about two-and-a-half hours after she reportedly plunged from the ship, after a pilot boat found her and alerted authorities.

Witnesses who were on the cruise recalled seeing the woman’s uncovered body in the back of a pickup truck next to the ship, the Mail reported.

Passengers were awoken early in the morning to an alert that someone had gone overboard.

“The first alert was a female voice, “Attention! Man overboard, port side,” Marisa Aebi told the outlet. “And that was around 5 a.m. I think she repeated this twice? Then a few minutes later, they blared the emergency horn. The three blasts.”
