Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have already been dealt ahead of this Thursday’s trade deadline. Damian Lillard, meanwhile, will be staying put.
NBA insider Chris Haynes is reporting that teams inquiring about Lillard are “being told unequivocally” by the Trail Blazers that he is not available.
Lillard, 32, is under contract through the 2024-25 season. The Trail Blazers still, in theory, have time to pair him up with an All-Star.
That being said, there are plenty of basketball fans who would love to see Lillard suit up for a different franchise.
Lillard is having yet another great season in Portland, averaging 30.9 points and 7.3 assists per game. He’d be an MVP candidate if the Trail Blazers had a better record.
The Trail Blazers are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference.
Perhaps the addition of Cam Reddish will help Lillard and the Trail Blazers make a playoff push over the next month.
