After weeks of speculation, Damian Lillard has finally decided what’s next for his NBA career.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Lillard has requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers.
“Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has requested a trade out of Portland, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets are among leading suitors for one of the NBA’s 75 Greatest Players ever,” Charania said.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN said the Blazers will work with Lillard to make sure they’re on the same page throughout this process.
For roughly a month now, the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers have been linked to Lillard.

Lillard, a perennial All-Star guard, averaged 32.2 points and 7.3 assists per game this past season. And yet, the Blazers were below .500 all season long.
The trade market for Lillard should be rich, especially since he’s in the prime of his career.
