BREAKING: Man arrested after car smashes into Downing Street gates

A cordon has been established in Whitehall after a car smashed into a set of gates of Downing Street this afternoon, Thursday, May 25.

Initial reports say that a man has been arrested by armed police officers after a hatchback managed to bypass the first barriers that block the road leading to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s residence at No10.

There are no reports of casualties but the area is said to be locked down as per protocol. According to dailystar.co.uk, a statement released by the Metropolitan Police, a man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and criminal damage.
