Following the incident where Rudy Gobert punched teammate Kyle Anderson, the Minnesota Timberwolves have made a big decision on their All-Star center ahead of their must-win play-in game this week.
According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Gobert will not be traveling with the Timberwolves to Los Angeles. He will miss Tuesday’s play-in game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The incident took place during a verbal exchange on the sideline during Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Gobert threw a punch at Anderson’s chest and was promptly escorted out of the game.
Now the Timberwolves will be without their star center and leading rebounder for their biggest game of the year.

The Minnesota Timberwolves moved heaven and earth just to bring Rudy Gobert into the fold this past offseason. They gave up four players, the rights to a fifth and four first-round picks among other compensation for the three-time All-Star.
Unfortunately for Minnesota, the end result was four fewer regular season wins than the previous season. Though they still got better results than the Utah Jazz, who missed the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
If the Timberwolves lose to the Lakers and miss the playoffs, Gobert will receive a lion’s share of the blame for just about everything.
Will Minnesota find a way to win without him?
