BREAKING UPDATE: Ellen DeGeneres’ show’s DJ tWitch dies aged 40 – suspected suicide

19:52 (December 14) – Staff at the Oak Tree Inn where Boss was found said that they discovered his body after he failed to check out on time. 

Conducting a “welfare check” staff entered the room to find his lifeless body on Tuesday morning, having shot himself in the head. They said they were unsure when he died with no one having heard the shot, but that the motel is on a busy noisy road.

The room, which he rented in his own name,  is said to have been in a bad state with blood everywhere. Rakesh the hotel manager said: ‘He went into his room, and he never came out. At 11.15am on Tuesday the maid opened the door to check on the room.

‘There was his stuff in there but no one there. She checked the bathroom, and there was blood everywhere.

‘She was very scared. This is the first time anything like that has happened here. We called 911, and they told us to check his pulse but there was nothing.

The paramedics declared Boss dead at the scene. 

Ellen DeGeneres speaking about the death of Boss, who days earlier had celebrated his month wedding anniversary, said: ‘I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart.

‘I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”

16:47 (December 14) – Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the regular DJ on the Ellen DeGeneres show has died according to a statement issued by his wide Allison Holker Boss.

In a statement to People on Wednesday, December 14 she said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.”

Boss, a dance superstar, was also a judge and contestant on the dance competition “So you think you can dance.”

His wife added: “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him.

“He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honour his memory.

“We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.”

She finished saying: “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”
