Purdue center Zach Edey has revealed his plans for the 2023 NBA Draft.
Edey announced on Tuesday that he will enter the draft while maintaining his college eligibility. This leaves the door open for the consensus All-American and national player of the year to return to Purdue next season.
“I will evaluate my future after going through the process and look forward to what’s next!” Edey said in his announcement on Twitter.

In his second season as a starter for the Boilermakers, the 7-foot-4 Edey averaged 22.3 points, 12.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game as Purdue won the Big Ten and earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Unfortunately, the Boilermakers became just the second No. 1 seed to ever lose to a 16-seed, despite Edey’s 21 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks in the 63-58 first round loss to Fairleigh Dickinson.
Edey’s lateral mobility, perimeter shooting and ability to defend are his biggest question marks at the next level. However, if he returns to school, Purdue will be right back in the national title mix in 2023-24.
