Alvaro Fernandez
Was in no man’s land for Trossard’s opener and was helpless for Maupay’s decisive finish. 6
Pontus Jansson
Made a number of key interceptions but allowed Maupay the freedom to smash home. 6
Mads Bech
Thrown in for his first appearance in the league since the opening day, and didn’t fare too badly. 5
Ethan Pinnock
Like Jansson, made some important challenges and was Brentford’s best defender on the night. 6
Sergi Canos
Got forward a lot, but struggled against Marc Cucurella especially in the first half. 5
Shandon Baptiste
Didn’t do too bad but has had better days. 7
Christian Norgaard
Picked up that dreaded yellow card which means he’ll miss Wednesday’s match against Man City. That aside, can hold his head high. 7
Mathias Jensen
Just wasn’t at the races as he was hooked off for Frank Onyeka at the break. 5
Dominic Thompson
For his first Premier League start, he held his own well. Was up against Tariq Lamptey and fared well against the right-back. 5
Bryan Mbeumo
Had a chip cleared off the line which was offside, but that was as good as it got for the Frenchman before he went off in the first half with injury. 6
Ivan Toney
Did his duties at both ends very well and tried to get attacks going. Was harshly booked for simulation despite contact. 7
Subs:
Yoane Wissa
Looked better when he came on, but wasn’t able to test Sanchez. 5
Frank Onyeka
Should have started over Jensen despite Frank resting him for Wednesday, and he held the fort when he came on. 5
Saman Ghoddos
Looked lively down the left-hand side, and tried his best to make things happen. 5
