James Harden has until Thursday to make a decision on his $35.6 million player option with the Philadelphia 76ers.
When discussing this ongoing contract situation on Get Up, ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst suggested that even if Harden doesn’t sign his player option, he’s likely to stay put in Philly.
“The indications are that James Harden is going to remain in Philadelphia,” Windhorst said.

Windhorst said he expects Harden to decline his player option in search of a more lucrative deal. The three-time scoring champion took a significant pay-cut to help the Sixers build their roster this past season, and now he’s looking to get his money.
Harden, 33, led the NBA with 10.7 assists per game this past season. He also scored 21.0 points per game on 44.1% shooting from the field and 38.5% from behind the three-point arc.
The Sixers have failed to make it past the Conference Semifinals in each of Harden’s two seasons with the team.
