Brightline Connects The Two Fastest Growing Regions In Florida With Its New Orlando Station

Business trip, vacation, or visit to the Magic Kingdom? Wait no more. Residents and visitors alike will now have the opportunity to take the popular South Florida intercity eco-friendly rail company, Brightline, to Orlando. Earlier this year, Brightline made history as the fastest train in the Southeast, reaching speeds of 130 mph so getting there will take you just over 3 hours. This extension will create an efficient and convenient link between these two major cities, enabling travelers to traverse the 235-mile distance in a matter of hours. The Orlando expansion is expected to open up new opportunities for tourism, business and personal travel, connecting these two regions further cementing Brightline’s role as a transformative force in Florida’s transportation landscape as it connects two of the fastest growing regions in the state: Central and South Florida.

Brightline has launched ticket sales for this highly anticipated Brightline Orlando connection and tickets will offer one-way SMART fares starting at $79 for adults and $39 for kids. Groups of 4+ automatically save an additional 25 percent on SMART fares. Slated to launch at the end of the summer, tickets between South Florida (Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach) and Orlando are on sale now for late summer through early 2024 at gobrightline.com or by downloading the app. Service will include 16 daily round trips with hourly departures between Miami and Orlando. Regular service from Orlando to Miami will stop at all Brightline stations including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Aventura. “Brightline guests and the travel market have spoken loudly, and we want to respond by opening ticket sales from late summer through the beginning of next year,” said Patrick Goddard, president of Brightline. “While we are finalizing an official launch date, guests can now book travel for Labor Day, Halloween and holidays through the new year.”

If you are interested in a more upgraded experience, Brightline offers their Premium service with fares that will start at $149 and include amenities including a dedicated Premium lounge, priority boarding, checked luggage, and complimentary snacks and beverages throughout the journey. Premium booked guests also enjoy Brightline’s first and last-mile service to get to and from the station with complimentary Uber rides anywhere within a five mile radius of a station.

Unveiled for the first time last month, the new Brightline Orlando Station, a modern 37,350 square foot station is located in Orlando International Airport’s new Train Station facility adjacent to Terminal C. The Brightline Orlando Station is designed by Bigtime Design Studios, an architecture firm based out of Miami that also designed the newly-opened Brightline stations in Boca Raton and Aventura, alongside the architect of record Sonny Fornoles of Borrelli + Partner. With Brightline’s beautiful spacious lounge, riders will have an opportunity to wait in luxury until their train is ready to board.

Along with the new station, commuters will be able to seamlessly park their cars at the terminal with more than 350 parking spaces designated for Brightline guests. “As a lifelong Central Floridian, it made me proud to see the advancement of our community today as our true multimodal hub becomes a reality and we celebrate the Brightline Orlando Station and soon to come train service to our international airport. This station represents so much more than a new train service, it is a critical connection for our community to jobs and opportunity and further showcases the power of partnerships and what our culture of collaboration here in Central Florida can do to improve the lives of our residents, workers and travelers when we work together.” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

With the growing number of new residents moving to Florida and traffic congestion at an all-time high, Brightline has emerged as a great transportation option. The complete new train schedule between Miami and Orlando can be viewed by visiting gobrightline.com.
