Britney Spears’ father Jamie reportedly loaned £30,000 ($40,000) from the company he later hired to manage her estate when she was put under a conservatorship.

The singer’s former manager Lou Taylor, who owns Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group, made millions managing her finances after giving the large sum of cash to her dad Jamie before the conservatorship was put into place in 2008.

According to the New York Times, Jamie allegedly borrowed funds from Taylor while his daughter was hospitalised 13 years ago.

The publication claims days later, Jamie filed a petition in a California court to take control of Britney’s finances.

It’s claimed the judge approved the request for a conservatorship and the following year, in 2009, Jamie hired Tri-Star to manage Britney’s estate.

At the time, Jamie received a loan of ‘at least’ $40,000 at the beginning of his relationship with the company.

Jamie’s attorney Alex Weingarten previously told the outlet that he ‘never received’ a loan from the firm, but later confirmed it.

Meanwhile Taylor’s lawyer Charles Harder insisted Jamie repaid the loan and also denied it had impacted Tri-Star’s work on Britney’s conservatorship.

According to the Times, Charles said in an email: “A small loan, later repaid, had no affect on Tri Star’s work for the estate in later years.”

Britney was freed from her conservatorship in November – and she celebrated the life-changing moment with her first ever glass of champagne.

“What an amazing weekend … I felt like I was on cloud 9 the whole time !!! I actually got my first glass of champagne at the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever seen last night !!!! I’m celebrating my freedom and my B day for the next two months !!!!!!!!!!!” she wrote on Instagram.
