Britney Spears’ ex-husband gatecrashes wedding

Britney Spears’ ex husband Jason Alexander will remain behind bars after he attempted to crash the pop star’s wedding to Sam Asghari earlier in the month.

A judge ruled that Jason, 40, must stay in jail despite his public defender arguing that the felony stalking count against his client should be lessened to a misdemeanour.

According to PageSix, the judge disagreed and held Brit’s first husband on one count of felony stalking with a prior and a special enhancement that he was on probation or parole, and three misdemeanour counts of trespassing, vandalism and battery.

His bail remains set at $100,000.

While Jason was originally charged with stalking, the complaint was changed on Friday to felony stalking with a prior domestic violence conviction.

Jason appeared in court on Monday and pleaded not guilty to all charges against him, while also denying the special enhancement allegation against him for an alleged crime outside of Tennessee.

Jason – whose 2004 marriage to Britney was annulled after 55 hours – showed his intentions on the day of the break-in as he shared a live video on Instagram of himself approaching security at the wedding venue, claiming that he had been invited by Britney herself.

He stated that she was his first and only wife and he was going to gatecrash the wedding.

At one point in the Instagram Live, he was seen storming into a marquee set up in the grounds of Britney’s home, as he shouted for the star.

He could be heard telling security “don’t f*** with me” as he headed into the venue while calling for his former wife.

Following his arrest, Jason was handed a three-year restraining order against the singer, and is reportedly not allowed to contact the her in any way after his attempted gatecrashing.

Shortly after the scenes of Jason entering the property, Britney’s attorney, Mathew Rosengart, said the singer was ‘absolutely livid’ at her ex’s attempts to disrupt her big day.

Mathew told TMZ at the time that Britney is safe and added: “I am personally working with the sheriff’s department to ensure Mr. Alexander is aggressively prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
