Britney Spears has got her shortest haircut yet and we are intrigued

Step aside, Bernice. There’s a new most talked about bob in town, and it rests atop the head of one Ms. Britney Spears. 

The popstar teased her big chop in her latest Instagram video posted from the beach; it’s slightly NSWF, btw, since she’s not exactly one for wearing the top part of her bikini.

“I cut all my hair off… I don’t want to show it yet ✂️✂️✂️!!!” Spears wrote. 

In the video, she covers her hair with a pink hat, though her hair seems to reach just below her ears. If that’s the case, this is the shortest hair we’ve ever seen on her (since the, uh, head shaving, which was less a style and more a crisis, so we don’t count that).

In another post uploaded the next day, Spears elaborated on her hair journey, writing, “I was inspired by Khloe Kardashian’s hair so I’m working on deep conditioning it today !!!” Khlo’s hair is actually pretty long right now, but it definitely looks healthier than Brit’s (no offense—bleach and sun are a harsh combination). 

So we imagine this sort of health is what Spears is going for, rather than the style:

Early in 2022, Spears got bored and dyed her hair purple, though it seems to have been a wash-out given how fast it disappeared. Does this haircut point toward more boredom? She did say in that second post that she does “nothing” all day (her words, not mine!). The girl definitely needs something to keep her hands busy, and I for one would love to see her start painting again.
