Spears reportedly tapped Wembanyama on the back as she tried to ask him for a picture at Vegas’ ARIA Hotel. The Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs allegedly backhanded the pop star in the face, causing her to fall to the ground and knocking her glasses off.
Spears then composed herself and sat down with her group for dinner. The Spurs security director later came over to apologize, and Spears reportedly accepted.
“You understand how it is when you’re being swarmed by fans,” the security director said, via TMZ.
Despite this apology, Spears still decided to file a police report alleging battery.
