Britney Spears Reflected On All That She Was Going Through Before Her 2003 Diane Sawyer Interview And It’s Really Sad

Britney Spears is looking back on her infamous interview with Diane Sawyer in 2003 — and it’s worse than everyone thought.

During their conversation, Diane’s line of questioning brought Britney to tears and she even blamed her then-recent breakup with Justin Timberlake entirely on Britney.

In a candid Instagram post, Britney admitted she was definitely not in the right headspace to do the interview and actually hadn’t even spoken to anyone since the breakup.

“Do we dare forget the Diane Sawyer interview in my apartment almost 20 years ago? What was with the ‘You’re in the wrong’ approach?? Geeze… and making me cry???” Britney wrote.

She continued, “Seriously though… I lived in my apartment for a year and never spoke to anyone… my manager put that woman in my home and made me talk to her on national television and she asked if I had a shopping problem!!! when did I have a shopping problem?”

Britney went on to share details about her split with Justin that she said she’d kept private for the past two decads.

“Something I never shared when I had that big break up years ago was that I couldn’t talk afterward. ..I never spoke to anyone for a very long time. I was in shock,” Britney shared.

She added, “Pretty lame of my dad and three men to show up at my door when I could hardly speak… two days later they put Diane Sawyer in my living room… they forced me to talk!”

“She said ‘a woman or a girl’ … I would like to say now, ‘Ma’am I’m a catholic slut!!!” Britney said, adding that Diane “can kiss my white ass.”
