Brittney Griner and her wife, Cherelle Griner, attended the 45th NAACP Image Awards on Saturday night.
During the show, Brittney and Cherelle made an appearance on stage.
The WNBA star, who was imprisoned in Russia for much of 2022, had a powerful message for Americans.
“It feels so good to be here, especially with my beautiful, amazing wife and with all of y’all here today,” the WNBA star said.
“I want to thank everyone and let’s keep fighting to bring home every American still detained overseas.”
That’s a pretty cool message from Brittney.
The WNBA star was brought home by President Biden, though several others remain detained overseas.
Hopefully, they’ll get to come home, too.
