There’s a chance that LeBron James will not play in the NBA next season.
Per Chris Haynes, James is considering retirement after the Los Angeles Lakers got swept by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.

This would have a ripple effect on his son Bronny after James originally said that he wanted to spend the last year of his career playing with him.
That part has fans thinking James won’t retire since he’ll want to play with his son once he’s done at USC.
“If it wasn’t for the commitment to wanting to play with Bronny, wouldn’t have been certain if LeBron was even sure he was going to play next season listening to that press conference,” one tweet read.

“LeBron retiring for a year to let his body recover fully and wait for Bronny to join the NBA could be smart and extend his playing time,” another tweet read.

People need to relax w/ the hot takes.
As he gets older, has decisions to make on his body such as surgery this off-season. That takes a toll on older players.
LeBron will be back w/ the Lakers. Bronny just committed to USC, Bryce just transferred to another school.
Stop. https://t.co/EBfpNpj5ZE

LeBron is in the "endgame" portion of his career. Will he retire? Not yet. What he WILL do: Evaluate how much longer he'll be a Laker? Yes. Will he play in way less games next year? Yes. Will he free himself up to play with Bronny when it's time? Yes.

I think LeBron’s top 2 priorities for his career are 1) playing with Bronny and 2) winning another ring. If he thinks LA has no shot of a ring, it would make sense to retire, get his body fully healthy, and do a one-year return with Bronny’s team.
