Brooke Blurton says a trip to Perth was the perfect “reset” for her soul after the man she was seeing broke it off.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the Noongar-Yamatji podcast host, author and youth worker shared a photo of the sky from her plane window, saying she “was really questioning” herself, but the reset had helped her get back into alignment.
She told her 277,000 followers: “To be honest, as much as it really stung, I just know in my heart that it isn’t me.”
“I know that might sound vein to some but if you know me, you know how loving I am. I was questioning whether my love was ‘too much’ and ‘too over bearing but I just really haven’t met the right person yet and that’s also okay.”
“For now I’m good, I love my work, I love my friends and I really do love what I’m doing and how I’m doing it. I just need to chill on the love aspect right now.”
Heading back to Naarm (Melbourne), Blurton said her trip was “short and sweet but needed”.
During her time on the west coast she caught up with friends and family, soaked up the sunshine, and attended the star-studded Barbie premiere on Monday night.
She also headed up north, to Exmouth and Ningaloo.
Reunited with friend Courtney in Exmouth, Blurton said the small resort town had had a place in her heart since she was young.
“One of my favourite places to holiday, to heal, to escape. It has it all,” she said.
And it seems she also thoroughly enjoyed her stop in Ningaloo.
“Had the pleasure of stopping into @salsalisningaloo for the night and my god, I could live here,” she captioned her post.
“It’s pure magic!”
