BAYONNE, N.J. — Two teenage brothers drowned at a school swimming pool Wednesday in New Jersey.
It happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Community School in Bayonne.
Police said witnesses saw the brothers, ages 16 and 19, in distress in the deep end of the pool.
There were three lifeguards on duty at the time, who were able to remove the victims from the pool and start CPR.
First responders transported them to Bayonne Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
Their names have not been released at this time.
Police said a third sibling was present at the pool but was not injured.
Crisis counselors will be available for students Thursday at all Bayonne schools.
