Nominations for the Grammy awards 2022 will be announced on Tuesday November 23 at 9am (ET.) Fans can view the announcement LIVE on Grammy.com as well as across their YouTube, Twitter, TikTok and Facebook pages. Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and Board of Trustees chair Tammy Hurt will be joined by K-pop boy band BTS, H.E.R., Maneskin. Jon Batiste, Carly Pearce and Tayla Parx to reveal the nominations. CBS Mornings anchor Gayle King and comedian Nate Bargatze will also be part of the livestream.
Last year Beyoncé broke the record for most wins for a female artist by earning 28 awards. BTS had bagged a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit song Dynamite but lost to Rain On Me by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
BTS recently made history at this year’s American Music Awards by becoming the first Asian group to pick up Artist of the Year. During the live stream post their win, group leader RM ended up dropping a spoiler, that met with awkward reactions from other members. J-Hope wondered if they could aim to win a Grammy in 2022, RM jumped into to say “Our video came out anyway,” before realising he had dropped a major spoiler. This led fans to believe BTS has already been nominated for Butter though it hasn’t been officially announced yet.
