The Milwaukee Bucks have announced Giannis Antetokounmpo’s status for Saturday’s Game 3 of their first round series against the Miami Heat.

Antetokounmpo will miss tonight’s game with a back injury.
He suffered the injury in Game 1 after a hard fall following a collision with Heat big man Kevin Love. Antetokounmpo has not played since suffering the injury early in the first game of the series.
The Heat would go on to win Game 1 against the top-seeded Bucks, but Milwaukee was able to bounce back and take Game 2 at home.
Now, as the series shifts to Miami, the Bucks will again need to rely on their supporting cast to get the job done without Antetokounmpo.
The series is guaranteed to go on for at least two more games, giving Antetokounmpo more time to recover from the injury and play in the first round.
The Philadelphia 76ers are in a similar situation with Joel Embiid, who suffered a knee injury in their first round series. The Sixers were able to wrap things up with the Nets in four games, giving Embiid more time to get healthy.
If the Bucks can rally and end the series in five games, they could end up resting Antetokounmpo until the second round – and a series against one of the league’s most physical teams in either the Knicks or Cavaliers.
