Build-A-Bear Reveals New Glaceon Pokémon Plushie

0

There’s a new must-have Build-A-Bear plushie, as Glaceon has been added to the company’s Pokémon line just before the holidays. The Glaceon plushie comes with a 5-in-1 sound chip that helps bring the cute critter to life.

In 2021, Build-A-Bear added Gengar, Scorbunny, Espeon, Umbreon, and Mew to their line of Pokémon plushies. The line also includes Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander, Squirtle, Meowth, Vulpix, Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Alolan Vulpix, Piplup, Psyduck, Snubbull, Snorlax, Pichu, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Dragonite. All the Pokémon plushies are available at physical stores, with special bundles exclusive to the Build-A-Bear online store, usually including alternative outfits.

In Glaceon’s case, the online bundle comes with a cape and a sleeper, so you can make your new Poké-friend even cuter. Glaceon is the sixth Eevee evolution to get a Build-A-Bear plushie, so fans can probably expect the remaining evolutions to get the same treatment in the future. So far, only Leafeon and Sylveon are missing the party. Leafeon is the Grass-type evolution of Eevee that got introduced in Generation IV, together with Glaceon. Sylveon would only become available in Generation VI, and this Fairy-type Pokémon was the last evolution of Eevee to be introduced so far.

2021 has been an excellent year for the Pokémon gaming franchise. As part of the 25th birthday celebrations of Pokémon, New Pokémon Snap resurrected the beloved Nintendo 64 photo-theme spinoff back in April, while the free-to-play MOBA Pokémon Unite was released on the Nintendo Switch last July. In less than six months, Pokémon Unite already reached 50 million players, after expanding from the Nintendo Switch to mobile devices last September. Remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl also hit the Switch last November, while Pokémon Legends: Arceus will offer the franchise’s first (almost) open-world experience on January 28, 2022. Finally, there’s a Pokémon Trading Card Game Live app bringing the Pokémon Trading Card Games to mobile soon.

Outside the gaming universe, the Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle feature film came to the Occident through Netflix, while a new animated series was confirmed, Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series. Also, Universal Studios Japan announced a new Pokémon-themed park, with the first attractions expected to debut already in 2022.

Wherever we look, the Pokémon franchise keeps expanding, keeping longtime engaged and bringing new Poké-fans into the folder. With cute plushies like the Build-A-Bear Glaceon being released, it shouldn’t be too hard for Pokémon to hold its place as the most valuable media franchise. The Glaceon Build-A-Bear is available now.
