The ‘Sixty Years of James Bond: Part I – Live Auction’ includes gadgets like a Q Jet Boat from The World Is Not Enough (1999); and a bionic eye from No Time to Die (2021), a couple of costume pieces, some other collectibles, and a bunch of vehicles, the champion of which is this No Time To Die Aston Martin DB5 replica stunt car that Christie estimates will sell for £1.5 million to £2 million ($2.35 million to $3.13 million in Canadian funds).

Finished in Silver Birch, the car was one of eight DB5s specially built for the filming of the 2021 Bond film, Daniel Craig’s final flick as Bond, and comes with the authentic-fake damage on the side panel. The listing also says the car, powered by a 3.2-litre straight-six engine tied to a six-speed manual, is one of a few to feature bespoke gadgets, which appear from the photo gallery to be the classic front-mounted machine guns as used in the opening chase scene in the film.

As for condition, there’s this “IMPORTANT NOTICE”: “This vehicle is sold as a ‘non-runner’ collector’s item and is sold as seen. It was built to be capable of certain specific limited uses by trained professional stunt drivers in a controlled environment for filming only and is not sold as a means of transport. It is not registered with the Driver Vehicle License Agency (DVLA) nor is it approved for use on any public roads or homologated. No promise is made that the vehicle is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, meets any road vehicle regulations, safety requirements or is otherwise roadworthy. Servicing and repairs may require bespoke and custom-built parts.”

No Bond movie features just one car, and neither does the lot. Other vehicles used in No Time to Die that are offered in the live auction include a 1981 Aston Martin V8 that’s expected to fetch up to £700,000 (over $1 million); a pre-production Land Rover Defender and a pre-production Range Rover Sport SVR; a 60th anniversary Defender V8 110 Bond Edition; a Jaguar XF stunt car; a special edition Aston Martin DBS Superleggera; and a Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE motorcycle.

And this is just Part I of a two-part drop from Christie and partner Eon Pictures. Expect more Bond car news soon.
