The result is the just-released list of the 20 Most Romantic Places to Eat in California. Nearly three-fourths of them are in Southern California (better step it up with the adjectives, you NorCal foodies).
Among the highlights:
The highest-ranked restaurant in Northern California is Boulevard Bistro (No. 7), a restaurant in Elk Grove, south of Sacramento, with a menu that changes frequently but often features duck and lamb.
Next on the list is L’Ardoise Bistro (No. 8), a French restaurant in San Francisco’s Noe Valley known for classics such as coq au vin and rack of lamb.
The Lake House (No. 11) serves seafood and steaks in a woodsy setting at South Lake Tahoe.
Campbell’s Trattoria 360 (No. 15) wins praise for its seafood-packed squid ink pasta entrees and panna cotta desserts.
The Redwood Cafe in Modesto (No. 17) is known for its beautiful park-like setting and extensive wine list.
