However, Mr Kemple is not the first to suggest electric vehicle owners would soon have to pay to use the roads.
Back in November, Chris Pateman-Jones, spokesperson at Connected Kerb, also warned “tax will have to go up on EVs”.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, he said: “At the moment you’re looking at four, maximum five pence per mile to drive an EV relative to anywhere between 18 and 23p to drive an internal combustion engine car.
“There is scope certainly to add some taxes to it.
