Carrie Underwood and Katy Perry lead the way in stunning gowns at CMA Awards ’21

The biggest stars in Country music were out in force in Nashville on Wednesday night at the CMA Awards and Carrie Underwood dazzled in a stunning asymmetrical gown

Carrie Underwood took the plaudits for her outfit as stars attended the CMA Awards 2021 in Nashville on Wednesday night.

Stars took to the red carpet in what is the biggest night for Country stars – the 55th Annual Country Music Association Awards ceremony.

And it was 38-year-old Carrie who wowed onlookers in her stunning asymmetrical gown. The blonde beauty donned an extravagant outfit which was topped off with feathered beading and a thigh-high slit to showcase her slender legs.

The stage was set for the star, who has been voted Female Vocalist of the Year for 15 consecutive years at the show, and she certainly didn’t disappoint.

She was joined by hubby Mike Fisher who wrapped his arms around her as the couple posed for pics before the ceremony started.

The star-studded event also saw pop sensation Katy Perry in appearance.

The Hot N Cold singer, 37, turned heads in an elegant brown leather gown which hugged her amazing figure.

She complimented the outfit with a long pearl necklace.

Her American Idol co-star, the legendary Lionel Richie, was also at the event and looked dapper as he rocked a classic all-black outfit.

The Easy singer, 72, was joined by his longtime girlfriend Lisa Parigi who looked radiant in a yellow strapless dress while carrying a silver ball-shaped handbag.

Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman also looked sensational as she turned up in support of husband Keith Urban who was performing his hit Wild Hearts.

The 54-year-old dressed to impress in a beautiful YSL gown which showed off her toned physique thanks to a revealing slit in the torso.

It also featured a daring thigh-split which gave onlookers a glimpse of her legs. She finished the look with a pair of gold earrings and an array of chunky bracelets.

The actress had earlier teased fans of her dress on Instagram as she shared a selection of seductive shots with her 7.9 million followers.

She captioned the post: “#CMAawards with my Wild Heart, Keith Lionel,” and fans were quick to share their thoughts in the comments sections.

Many fans, including Reese Witherspoon, simply shared a string of fire emojis, while another gushed: “I will say it again, you are so beautiful.”

The awards were being hosted for the first time by American Idol judge Luke Bryan, while Eric Church and Chris Stapleton led the way as the most-nominated artists.

Both were up for five gongs each and both were in the running for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.
