Starting a new chapter in a century-long story, Cartier has updated the house’s iconic Tank Française watch, adding new styling and ergonomics to the iconic timepiece. Since the Tank’s debut in 1917, it has graced the wrists of artists and aesthetic connoisseurs and continues to captivate today.
To show off the updated watch, Cartier tapped British filmmaker Guy Ritchie to direct a short film starring Rami Malek and Catherine Deneuve. The film noir-inspired spot shows Malek crossing a bridge in Paris, before being passed by a young Deneuve. Turning back to shoot a photo, things take a surreal turn when Deneuve (and Malek’s camera) shift in age between shots, before Malek and Deneuve lock eyes in the present day at the end of the bridge.
Take in more of the Parisian vibes in the video above. Then, head to Cartier.com to look at its revamped Tank Française, which comes in three face sizes and includes options made from steel, yellow gold, or a mix of both metals, as well as models featuring diamond-encrusted bezels.
