The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has conducted Class 10 term-1 English (Lang & Literature) paper today, on December 11, 2021. The OMR-based examination for English subject code-184 is reportedly held with proper management at all the designated centers. Students who appear for the Class 10th English paper can check and compare their responses with the unofficial answer key provided by the exam experts. The English question paper insight along with its analysis and solutions is shared for the reference of the students.

According to the schedule, the 90-minute duration term-1 exam is held from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. As many as 50 questions had to be attempted by the students of total 60 questions divided into three sections. Students were given a time duration of 90 minutes to attempt the paper. According to the CBSE bifurcated syllabus, in English (Language & Literature) paper 50% of the syllabus was from English Textbooks – First Flight & Footprints without feet.

Students, on being asked about the paper review said that the difficulty level of English papers was easy to moderate. It has also been reported that some of the Literature section questions were time-consuming. However, the overall paper level was balanced.

Based on media reports, the exam is held following the COVID-19 guidelines and other instructions issued by the central board. Ahead of the examination, students were provided 20 minutes to read the question paper.

CBSE Class 10 English Answer Key 2021: 

 CBSE Class 10 English Term 1 Paper contained 60 questions divided into three sections. In Section A (Reading) total of 18 were asked of which 14 had to be attempted. In section B (Writing & Grammar) of total 12 questions, 10 had to be attempted by the students. While in section C (Literature) a total of 30 questions were asked and students had to attempt any 26. Overall, of the total of 60 questions, 50 questions were compulsory for the students.

All questions in the paper carry equal weightage i.e. 0.8 mark. Further, it should be noted that there is no provision of negative marking in the CBSE Term 1 exam. Here below is the paper analysis of CBSE English term-1 paper 2021 by the ‘DoubtNut’ exam experts.
