The Boston Celtics have been busy this offseason.
The team added a big piece in Kristaps Porzingis but lost Marcus Smart in a three-team trade with Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies.
The team now has a decision make with Jaylen Brown, who made All-NBA honors this past season, making him eligible for a five-year, $295 contract extension.
Brown, 26, averaged 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists on 49.1 percent shooting from the field and 33.5 percent from long distance.
While making an appearance Monday on SportsCenter, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst provided an update on talks between the sides.
“The sides are talking,” Windhorst said. “This is obviously a very important, fragile deal. I know that there’s interest on both sides to get something done and I would expect it to head in that direction.
“The one thing to point out: if Jaylen Brown does extend on this deal, he cannot be traded for a year.”
