Galatasaray have made a bid for Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara after extensive talks, according to reports in Turkey.
The 32-year-old has struggled to consistently stay fit since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2020, with 20 Premier League starts in his first season at Anfield being the most he has managed.
The last campaign saw him start just 14 times in the league and after the arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Thiago may struggle to get into the starting XI even when fit.
Turkish publication Fanatik report that Galatasaray are hoping to take advantage of the situation and have made a bid for the Spain international after holding ‘multiple conversations’ with him.
The bid has been described as a ‘good offer’ although the figure has not been reported. Galatasaray are certainly serious about the move, though, with vice president Erden Timur travelling to Liverpool to try and get the deal done.
The Reds are making big changes to their midfield this summer, with the arrivalsof the Argentina and Hungary internationals, while there has been a string of departures.
James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita have all left on free transfers, while youngsters Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones are set to continue their rise to prominence in the Reds midfield in the coming season.
20-year-old Tyler Morton may also push for more first team opportunities after spending last season on loan in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers.
Morton played 46 times for Blackburn over the last campaign and will be hoping to add to the nine first team appearances he has made for Liverpool so far.
