Chelsea will be joined by Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in the last 16 of the Champions League, but the Blues are the only English side not to win their group in the initial stage of the competition.
Thomas Tuchel’s side knew they would need to match or better Juventus’ result against Malmo to seal top spot in the group after an emphatic victory against the Serie A side last time out.
However, Chelsea gave up a last-gasp equaliser in the 94th minute that sealed their place in second, as Moise Kean gave Juve a win over their Swedish opponents in Turin.
The Blues had already secured passage through to the knockout stages, with other English sides Manchester United and Liverpool progressing. And they are joined by last season’s beaten finalists, Manchester City,

However, Tuchel’s side will now be counting the cost of missed opportunities with some tough potential ties in the next round.
Ajax, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all won their groups, with Lille the other side the Blues could face in the knockout stages after a win against Wolfsburg cemented their place at the top of the table.
The draw takes place in Nyon, Switzerland and will be on Monday, December 13.
The eight group winners will be drawn against the eight runners-up of the groups, and with the Blues unable to face any of the three English teams or Juventus in the next round, Tuchel and his side could be left ruing the cost of the late goal against Zenit..
No team can face another from their own group in the next stage, and they cannot be drawn against another side from their country.
The last-16 ties will then take place in February, with the first legs being split and played across different weeks. The first set of opening fixtures plays out February 15-16, whilst the next lot of first legs plays out on February 22-23.
The second legs begin on March 8-9, with the second set of games playing out March 15-16.
