‘No one produced a better first touch than Micah Richards with the pasta!’: Jamie Carragher marvels at fellow pundit’s quick reactions after he caught his food while wildly celebrating Kevin De Bruyne’s early opener against Real Madrid
Jamie Carragher claimed no one produced a better first touch during Manchester City’s Champions League semi final win over Real Madrid than Micah Richards did with his reaction to Kevin de Bruyne’s goal.
Pep Guardiola’s side will take a one-goal advantage to the Bernabeau next week after beating the Spanish side 4-3 in their first-leg semi final tie.
De Bruyne made history at the Etihad as he opened the scoring with the quickest goal ever in a Champions League semi final when he found the back of the net after just 94 seconds.

Madrid were immediately undone after Riyad Mahrez raced at them down the left-hand side, with the winger jinking inside and floating in a delicate cross.
De Bruyne was able to dart in at the far post, evading the backtracking defenders, and craned forward to steer a neat header across goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

The CBS pundit enthusiastically celebrated the Belgian’s rapid goal against Real Madrid
The CBS pundit immediately celebrated the hosts’ early lead but as he did so, nearly spat out a mouthful of pasta.
Afterwards, his co-pundit Jamie Carragher had a hilarious reaction as he analysed the incident on air.
‘Listen, this has to be analysed,’ Carragher said on CBS Sports Golazo. ‘When you talk about some of the technicians that we have had on show today – Kroos, Modric, Silva, Kevin de Bruyne – no one produced a better first touch and control of a situation than Micah Richards with the pasta.

Carragher then continued to dissect the moment with a slow motion version of the clip.
‘He thinks he’s lost it, miscontrolled it,’ he said. ‘But then look at this. Forget your Luka Modric, we’ve got Micah. Big Mich is back.’
The former Liverpool defender’s commentary left Richards and the rest of the panel, featuring Thierry Henry and presenter Kate Abdo in hysterics as he lifted Richards’s arm into the air.
