Aleksandar Mitrovic of Fulham has scored 19 goals in 16 league outings during 2021/22

Roughly a third of the Championship campaign has elapsed so far and at present the three teams at the top are threatening to runaway with proceedings.

League leaders Bournemouth lost their first game of the season in midweek, a shock 2-1 home defeat to Preston North End, but still sit two points clear at the top.

Second-place Fulham continued their good run of goal-scoring form with an emphatic 7-0 win at Blackburn Rovers, whereas West Bromwich Albion secured a 1-0 win over Hull City – with both ticking along nicely in their respective quests for immediate promotion back to the Premier League

In terms of the chasing pack, both QPR and Stoke picked up important midweek wins, whereas Coventry slipped up at home to Swansea.

At the other end of the table, Barnsley beat bottom-of-the-table Derby 2-1 at Oakwell and Hull recorded a sixth consecutive defeat.
