Channel Nine bosses have reportedly delayed the return of Married At First Sight Australia 2023 stars to social media following the continuous airing of the dating show overseas.

It was suggested the producers of the programme – which saw hopeful romantics meet their match at the altar – have significantly restricted the cast members’ access to Instagram and the likes after exiting the experiment.

Previously, the personal accounts of participants were returned to each cast member no later than two weeks after the season finale.

This year, stars have apparently been made to wait before re-activating their accounts until Monday, May 15.

The channel and production company of the popular series are supposedly fearful of contestants’ actions on the platforms while the episodes in season 10 are still being regularly released overseas – according to MailOnline.

News of the social media restrictions broke after a leaked email written by a Channel Nine employee detailed information and the existence of the delay.

It seemingly explained ‘that the delay is due to a change in the UK’s broadcast of the series.’

Picked up by the TV Blackbox podcast, hosts delved deeper into the controversy and explained the apparent rift between the stars and the Australian production company.

Tim Burrowes – who was a guest on the podcast – weighed in and said: ‘But that hasn’t stopped the brides and grooms from posting regularly on Tik Tok and even receiving brand deals.

‘So Dramatic has released the email sent from Nine asking contestants to delete the content and make their accounts private.

‘But multiple cast members told the outlet they don’t care and will continue posting.’

The email referenced that was obtained by So Dramatic was reported to have read: ‘Hi all, apologies but unfortunately our handover meetings will push back a week as the UK has changed their broadcast of episodes, moving the final two reunions to next week.

‘Where possible, I’ll keep the same slots as already booked just on the new dates (from Mon May 15), but there may be some that will need to change. Please also let me know if you can’t do the new time and need to change.

‘Appreciate your patience and assistance, and apologies for this timing!’
