Chaos as American and Brit swing at each other on flight over ‘window seat row’

This is the shocking moment an American and British passenger sparked chaos after brawling with each other on a Ryanair plane after one allegedly refused to let the other get to his window seat.

The fight on board the aircraft erupted moments before a service from Malta to London Stansted took off on July 3, according to Newsflare.

Ryanair flight attendants and other passengers are quickly seen stepping in to defuse the situation, with the two fighting men separated.

One person can be heard shouting during the chaotic moment: “We’ll never get home.”

Neil Modwhadia, a fellow passenger who recorded the angry disagreement, told the outlet: “The shorter guy on the left is American and had the window seat. The taller man on the right with a cap on is British and had the aisle seat.

“The British man wouldn’t let the American man pass through to get to his window seat and then some words and swears were exchanged before a scuffle broke.”

He claimed the flight was delayed by two hours, which left everyone onboard “annoyed”.

Ryanair said in a statement two passengers had become “disruptive ahead of take-off” on the flight from Malta to London Stansted on July 3.

There was a “minor delay” before the aircraft was able to safely depart for Stansted.

The airline commented: “Two passengers on this flight from Malta to Stansted (July 3) became disruptive ahead of take-off.

“Cabin crew defused the situation before the aircraft departed safely for Stansted following a minor delay.”

Last month, video footage showed a passenger being hauled off a Ryanair plane by British police shortly after touching down after he was caught smoking in the toilet.

One passenger on the flight described the moment the man was shamed over smoking in the toilet over the public address system on the plane.

He told the Manchester Evening News: “It was literally about 20 minutes after take-off.

“One of the flight attendants could smell smoke coming from the toilet. They took all his details and then announced it to the whole plane.

“I was really pleased because they’d named and shamed the person. If you’re willing to have a smoke and put 180 souls on board lives at risk, then you should be named and shamed.”

A Ryanair spokesperson told the newspaper: “The crew of this flight from Palma to Manchester called ahead for police assistance after a passenger was found smoking onboard.

“The passenger was removed from the aircraft by local police upon landing at Manchester Airport.” No charges were issued against the man.
