Chapman’s Peak Drive new tolls: Here’s how much you’ll now pay

New tolls for famous Cape Town road

It will now cost travellers and motorists a little more to pass through ‘one of the world’s most scenic drives’. This comes after a recent toll tariff increase instated on 1 July 2023.

According to travelnews.africa, in order to manage and maintain the road, the Western Cape government and SANParks, the concessionaire of Chapman’s Peak Drive, is obligated through its contractual agreement and in line with inflation to increase the toll tariffs annually.

“Chappies”, as it’s affectionately dubbed by South Africans, is a popular tourist spot for locals and international visitors, who often consider the drive a bucket-list travel item.

The road stretches for 9km, starting out at the picturesque fishing harbour of Hout Bay and continues up and down winding roadway to reach Noordhoek on the othe side.

How much will it cost?

According to the official Chapman’s Peak Drive website, the toll increases from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024 are as follows:
