Some people consider Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player ever, while others crown the title to LeBron James.
Regardless of the opinion, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is universally considered a top-five player of all time.
NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley thinks otherwise, leaving the four-time champion off his all-time starting five lineup.
Barkley named Jordan, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Wilt Chamberlain for his lineup. They’re all great choices considering their greatness but leaving James off the list is certainly interesting.
Could it be because of the history between the two, which included shots thrown at one another? Maybe. But based on his resume, James certainly belongs in the top five.
James, 38, became the NBA’s all-time leader in scoring this season. He’s also a 19-time All-Star with 19 All-NBA awards and four MVPs.
During his 20 seasons in the league, James has averaged 27.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.8 assists on 50.5 percent shooting from the field and 34.5 percent from long distance.
