Charles Barkley is known for his bold predictions during TNT’s coverage of the NBA. With the playoffs around the corner, Barkley gave his latest prediction on TNT’s pregame show on Thursday.
“I am tired of this Denver Nuggets slander. I am tired of this Sacramento slander,” Barkley said. “The Sacramento Nuggets and the Denver Nuggets are gonna win a series.”
He went one step further, saying that he was picking the Nuggets to make the NBA Finals.

Both predictions are fairly bold given the teams’ history. The Nuggets have never won a conference title, meaning they’ve never appeared in the NBA Finals.
The Kings have secured a playoff berth this season, but it’s their first time making the postseason since 2006. You’d have to go all the way back to 2004 – nearly 20 years ago – for the last time the Kings won a series in the playoffs.
The Nuggets and Kings have been a step above the rest of the West this season, along with the Memphis Grizzlies. The Nuggets will likely be the conference’s No. 1 seed at season’s end, set to face the team that emerges from the Play-In Tournament with the No. 8 seed.
The Kings look to be locked into the No. 3 seed, ready to face the team that comes in at No. 6.
