While the 2023-24 NBA season won’t kick off for another four months, Charles Barkley already knows which teams can win the title.
In Barkley’s mind only four teams have what it takes to hoist the Larry O’Brien. In a recent conversation with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole on “Dubs Talk” at the American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe Resort, Barkley listed his four contender.
They are the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.

Barkley isn’t really going out on a limb with any of his predictions. Three of those four teams were in the conference finals just a few months ago – with the Miami Heat being the only team to make the conference finals (and NBA Finals) without making Barkley’s list.
Adding the Philadelphia 76ers is interesting considering that James Harden might not be on the team when the 2023-24 season kicks off.
The Nuggets dominated their way to an NBA title and should enter next season as the clear favorites.
