NBA analyst Charles Barkley is just as excited as the rest of us for Super Bowl LVII, though unlike most of us, he’s in a position to put a ton of money down on the game in bets.
Speaking to Ernie Johnson during the NBA on TNT, Barkley was asked what his plans were for the Super Bowl. Barkley revealed that he’s going with some friends to Las Vegas after the game for an all-nighter – but not before putting down around $100,000 in bets on the games. Specifically, he’s picking the Philadelphia Eagles.
“Probably a hundred thousand…” Barkley said. “I’ll probably bet about a hundred grand on the game… Go Eagles. E-A-G-L-E-S!”
Given Barkley’s track record of predictions, Eagles fans might be a little bit nervous right about now. Fortunately for them, he didn’t “Gua-ran-tee” that the Eagles would win the game. Not here at least.
The money line certainly seems to indicate that most of the gamblers are on Charles Barkley’s side here. The Eagles have a narrow edge on the money line and are currently favored by 1.5 points over the Chiefs.
That said, maybe avoid spending as much as Charles Barkley plans to on both the game and at the tables in Vegas after the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl will be played at 6:30 p.m. ET and will air on FOX.
