Kitchens are said to be one of the most important rooms in the home, and can add value to a property. However, renovating it can also be extremely expensive, which is why Jodie Worboys, 28, from Buckinghamshire, decided to take on the project herself. The equine sports massage therapist spoke exclusively to money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk about her DIY transformation. Jodie, who worked with her partner Erien on the project, spent less than £150 turning it onto a gorgeous space.

The equine sports massage therapist spoke exclusively to money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk about her DIY transformation.

She explained: “I follow DIY pages on Facebook and I’m forever saving posts of anything I quite like.

“During Covid-19, I got so sick of my kitchen that my fiancé and I decided to just completely overhaul it.

“I saw a few posts about vinyl stick-on floor tiles and we decided to give them a go.”

They also used a top coat to seal the cupboards that they already had from previous projects.

The DIYer added: “We bought a pack of 10 rose gold handles from Amazon for £26.99 and the breakfast bar stools from B&Q for £20.

“It cost £147 in total, so cheap and cheerful, whereas if I had got it done professionally, I would guess it would cost around £1,500 minimum.

“It took three days of hard work for a fabulous kitchen.

“It’s great to save money, we are always doing our own DIY projects around the house, and it’s even better when you’ve done it all yourself.”

Jodie said her top tip for those wanting to recreate the same would be to “trust the process”.

Tom Church, co-founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented: “Hats off to Jodie and her amazing can-do attitude.

“Using budget materials, a whole lot of positivity and the gold mine that is YouTube tutorials, Jodie and Erien have pulled off an incredible transformation.

“Kitchen renovations can cost thousands and thousands of pounds, but these two have proven you can do it for under £150 with creativity, great materials and hard work.”
