Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is set to be disappointed after learning that his pursuit of Juventus star Federico Chiesa could ultimately fail, according to reports. Tuchel is understood to be a big fan of the Italian who starred at Euro 2020.
Chiesa scored twice as Italy won the tournament in July, beating England in the final at Wembley Stadium.
But the 24-year-old has also been enjoying some excellent form at Juventus in Serie A.
He has directly contributed to six goals in 16 games this term, scoring and assisting three times apiece.
Chiesa is only on loan at Juventus. He agreed to join the Old Lady in a two-year temporary deal from Fiorentina in the summer of 2020.
Juve have the option to sign the wide man at the end of his loan.

However, several Premier League clubs are likely to be interested and an auction could be prompted, with the Italian side possibly tempted into an immediate sale.
Chelsea are one of those teams who are pursuing Chiesa. However, journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Juve are in fact not willing to consider a departure.
“We had rumours about Chiesa and there are 100 million Chelsea fans asking me about Chiesa,” Romano told the Here We Go podcast.
“The rumours started because Thomas Tuchel loves this player. He thinks Chiesa is one of the best wingers in the game.
“He is a modern player so Tuchel would love to have Chiesa at Chelsea. This is something true.

The winger has entertained a return to former club Ajax. I would love to (return),” Soccer News report him saying.
“I had a fantastic time there. It’s a place where I have felt at home, and whether it will ever happen, the future will tell. But, if it is up to me, it will definitely happen.
“That’s (a transfer) not up to me. I leave that to them. I just try to enjoy every day now and do my thing.
“What the future brings, we’ll see then. But, like I said, I hope it happens one day. Whether it will happen is not up to me.”
