Chelsea could be set to land the signing of Everton full-back Lucas Digne this month after details of his transfer preference were revealed.

The Blues are desperate to bring in new faces in both full-back positions following injuries to England international duo Reece James and Ben Chilwell.

And the club are now said to be exploring a move for Frenchman Digne after he reportedly fell out with Everton manager Rafa Benitez.

A new signing could also be made on the other side of defence with Thomas Tuchel said to be going ‘all out’ to bring in a defender from Spain.

It comes as Barcelona have reportedly stepped up their attempts to bring in one of Chelsea’s contract rebels next summer.

Christensen move made

Barcelona have reportedly launched their bid to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

The Danish centre-back is free to negotiate with foreign clubs with his contract set to expire at the end of the season and no new deal at Stamford Bridge in sight.

And it appears he is the man new Barcelona boss Xavi wants to shore up his leaky defence, according to Fichajes.

The Barca boss is said to see Christensen as the perfect signing as he will be available on a free, with the Catalan giants struggling financially.

Digne preference

Everton full-back Lucas Digne is said to “favour a move to Chelsea”, it has been reported.

According to 90min, the player has no plans to move to newly-rich Newcastle United and is instead keen to seal a move to London.

Newcastle have made bringing in new faces in defence a priority during this transfer window as they look to fight their way out of the relegation places following their takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

The French international is said to be “considering his options.” amid interest from West Ham and Leicester City but has made his stance known that he prefers a move to Chelsea, although the report adds this “could change as the window goes on”.

Chelsea “go all out” for full-back

Chelsea have “gone all out” to sign Sergiño Dest from Barcelona, it has been claimed.

Spanish publication Sport reports Chelsea see Dest as their “number one target” and have “approached” Barcelona about a move.

The player reportedly wants to remain at Barcelona and earn his place in Xavi’s first-team back, but as Chelsea are a “top-level club” and will be in the running to win “all the important titles” he could change his mind and jump ship to Stamford Bridge, the report adds.
