Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich curbs Ziyech and Werner transfer talks with new deadline

Ziyech and Werner joined the Blues in the summer of 2020 for a combined fee of £85million after stellar form for Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively.

After finishing third in the league the season prior, the duo were expected to help Chelsea challenge for the title.

And that they did for a few months – before some poor form under Frank Lampard resulted in the appointment of Thomas Tuchel.

Since then, game time for both has been hard to come by given the signing of Romelu Lukaku and the emergence of Callum Hudson-Odoi.

And Barcelona could look to take advantage of that situation – although a deadline for discussions has been set for after the Champions League group stage finishes by Blues owner Roman Abramovich, according to Sport.
